I think the spam filter here is going through growing pains; it keeps telling me that I have lots of potential spam to moderate, but there’s nothing (or hardly anything) in the spam queue.

So if you’ve commented recently and your comment hasn’t shown up, apologies.  I’ll try and see if there’s a way to disable the filter.

  1. I just want to say that I just subscribed to your blog yesterday and I am loving it! I am considering applying to med school after I finish my chems and bios and your blog has given me a lot of insight. It has made me see that med school isn’t something to fear, but something to enjoy and take as much as I can from it.

Thank you again for your blog! I too like to visit various websites that can diagnose me. I have Rheumatoid Arthritis and you should have seen some of the diseases it came up with before I visited the rheumatologist!

  2. Quick question, what is the age of the oldest person in your class? I will be 29 by the time I get started and I was just curious?

  3. Kosher. That makes me feel good. One of my “reasons” for debating working to become a doctor for so many years is because I felt like I was too old.

  4. Hi:

I hope I am not bothering you, but I wanted to ask you how many med schools did you apply to? So far, I’ve selected 3 on my application.

    Thank you!

  5. Hey electrolite,

I applied to 12 schools. I really recommend getting a copy of the MSAR (Medical School Admissions Requirements) when putting together a list of schools to apply to. They have one-page summaries of each school, along with a handy little GPA/MCAT table you can use to compare your stats to the ones on your list.

    Hope that helps!
